One more thing about Patreon.

I promise this is the last.

I mentioned I was building some things over on the Patreon platform. You can read that blog post to get the background.

If you currently have a Substack subscription (some of you are monthly, some are yearly) and would like to access the Patreon material, please send me an email.

Here’s why you may want to:

  • Your benefit: The different Patreon tiers are priced so that in some cases, you get your Substack subscription, plus the extra content, without paying for both. If you decided to go through Patreon, would manually refund/cancel Substack and set up your complimentary access to this blog manually if you are a current subscriber here.

  • My benefit: Substack uses Stripe for payment processing and I get a significant amount taken out in fees (Substack takes a fee, Stripe takes a transaction fee, and Stripe also takes a “subscription” fee.) Death by a thousand fees, in other words.

Depending on the Patreon tier, you’ll get access to this blog, plus:

  • Behind-the-story content that supplements some of the blog posts and gives you more insight into what it’s about.

  • Behind-the-scenes content of the art and writing you find on Lone Prairie.

  • Temporary Instagram/Snapchat like pictures of daily life that I post in Patreon.

  • Mini-blog posts with humorous updates and observations of daily life.

  • Coupons for things on my website, and access to free downloads.

  • Added to my postal newsletter (some of you were already on it, and will be grandfathered in).

  • Announcements or previews of upcoming content, projects, or other news.

  • Different levels of interaction to content.

  • Other stuff.

However, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE A CHANGE. I’m very thankful for those of you who support this blog, no matter how you do it. I just wanted to let you know you could possibly get more bang for your buck if you so chose, but there’s no pressure either way.
